Photochemical reactions are processes that strongly depend on time and distance. The aim of the present study is to control photochemical processes actively by manipulation of intermolecular istances on nano-layered materials such as clay minerals. Through the development of the previously proposed "Size-Matching Effect", which is a novel technique to control the molecular alignment on inorganic surfaces, the establishment of active control methods for photochemical processes will be examined.
